Parents/Families/Households

barbara and barnett kids

Experience shows that when young families focus on their own goals and adjust the ways they use the time available to them, many perceived obstacles to close relationships can be resolved and communication around the parents’ priorities is improved within extended families, blended families, and employed caregivers.

The process we offer is based on each unique situation and the backgrounds, assets, and insights of the adults responsible for the children within it.

Some elements of these workshops are:

  • how we spend time

  • gift-giving

  • family storytelling

  • strategies for listening to the needs and wishes of everyone in the household

  • respectful, definitive (and often fun) ways to communicate about media and the child
